If you stopped payment on individual checks (My banks charges $30 for each check stoppage) it would have been denied eventhough USCIS tried to cash it (instantly as it is electronic transaction).That you received receipt notices means, the checks went through, and your application is considered properly filed.

Hi Guys, I just started my monthly contribution today $20/ Month. IV core is literally begging for more funds. So please contribute to save this organization and save ourselves. Unless you're feeling seriously hampered by your set of lenses right now, and you're planning on spending some dollars on new lenses, I'd stick with what you have at the moment, and only upgrade when you actually see a need to do so, rather than "better do it before it's too late".
Yes, if you have advanced plans on buying more lenses, then I would consider upgrading the camera as well - before you have such a huge collection that you can't feasibly afford to change brands.
I would also very seriously consider the fact that Canon has undeniably the best select of lenses, and most people (except some Nikon fanatics) would probably also agree that the Canon lenses are optically better than the Nikon equivalents [although there are many factors here, some of which are based on personal experience, some are probably depending on whether you get a "good copy" or "bad copy", etc, etc].
Flash memory (SD or CF) isn't very expensive these days, so unless you have several gigabytes of it, you probably need not really worry about that so much when it comes to choosing your next generation camera.
I have to admit, however, that the Nikon D80 has a very tempting price and feature combination. I'm sure it's a really good camera.
Finally, although I'm somewhat of a Canon fan, my latest camera purchase was a Nikon - a small Coolpix 7600 so that me and my wife can carry an unobtrusive camera when need be. Carrying a EOS 10D around is a little bit more noticable...

but we received an RFE Yday forwarded from my old address which I moved out 1 year ago and filed AR11.
also the RFE stated that there is no G28 representation on our case and worst thing was online status is still pending.
We had lost 13 valuable days because of address they used in RFE.

I think that is the reason you got it to your address instead of your attorney. They might have missed that G-28 or your attorney forgot to send in with other stuff.

I am on same boat. Mine and my wife case also transfered from Texas to Orlando,FL.My PD is EB2 sep06 and we filed 485 July2nd'07.140 approved in March07.
We never worked in FL state.
My case is tranfered on 8th April'08 and a LUD today(9th April 08).

No politician can understand the pain of long waiting and unknown state of our immigration status in this EB backlog mess ..they are just worried about their vote bank.....We should not surprise if USCIS don't move dates in June or July VB 2011...Instead of waiting for VBs, we have to do somethings to gain support of GC holders and US citizens of our national origin. All of them need to write letters to support our cause through public campaign with the help of human rights organizations. Also, I would think Indian and Chinese business tycoons like Patel brothers need to lobby for our cause to explore their business opportunities for them from our community. We got to do something massive to continuously highlight in mainstream media.
Please be polite if you have any better idea to share with us..

What you are saying may be logically correct, but USCIS needs the proof on paper. USCIS needs I-140 approval notice to give you 3-year H1B extension. You can try without that, but not gauranteed anything. Same with I-140 applying also, they need original copy of labour approval to file I-140. USCIS has proper application rejection procedures for all this. May be they are not having proper Approval procedures, but they do have proper Rejection procedures depending on documents required to file something.
So finally, you have to get I-140 approval notice, otherwise they won't grant 3-year H1B extension.
I do not see any reason why uscis cannot give 3 year extension with ONLY 485 receipt and I-140 case number printout. With these, USCIS should be able to determine the priority dates and whether the person is retrogressed or not.
An actual case would be helpful.

No need to be scared of CIR. Even CIR is passed in current form US will reward right people those who are ready to take challenges. Make note of people who came for study in 1970 to 1995 How did they survive and overcome lot of issues. Those who want to get greencard on arrival has to forget and pack the bags. Our company guy said, there is some new policy in 485 processing which is causing them to gather lot of other information (I havent seen this policy published anywhere..so thought this guy is bluffing)..but I dont know many ppl have been saying about such RFEs or RFEs which were not raised before are more common now.
Look at my other thread as an example.
Hopefully you resolve it fast

Another one same company , eb2, same credential as me , later receipt Date, applied after me in eb2, got his GC five months back.

I love no. 2, 3 and 4.
2 for the dynamic composition, 3 just cracked me up because the percussion instruments are so domineering and 4 seems pure concentration. 2 and 4 could maybe be cropped slightly, but that's very minor.

Your status does not change to H1B till October 1st, 2009 so by default you are on OPT till that time. Now, you might want to check with your company lawyers if they are going ahead with the filing. My feeling is , they are going to go ahead with the filing since only after an H1B is laid off, USCIS is notified by the sponsoring employer. If you don't file on the April time frame, you might miss the bus for this year and your next shot comes only in April 2010. Take a moment off and think with a cool head, what do you think would be good for you and your career.
