nah. I doubt they would do this. .2 inches is not that much bigger and would cause problems with designing apps to look good on it. I can see a 4 inch screen, and them getting rid of the home button. What they'll do for the home button is make the screen clickable at the bottom where the home button used to be. It would be similar to squeezing a magic trackpad. That would enable them to get rid of the home button and expand the screen to that area, making it a 4 inch screen. I can also see the area above the screen and next to the camera and ear piece become touch sensitive, enabling "drag down" menus that would enable multitasking or enable quick settings. For example, you could drag down from one corner to get multitasking menu and switch back to a different app, (8 instead of 4, I hope) and drag down from the other corner to quickly adjust screen brightness and turn your wifi hotspot on or off. They may also make the back touch sensitive, but I can't imagine a use for that, so I don't know what they'll do with it. But they made a glass back for a reason. I think they have a really good idea of what to do with a touch sensitive back.

I used VMware workstation for Windows, that thing was awesome. Let me test so much stuff, and the features are so useful. That thing was slow, but it worked just fine. Now, if they released something like that for Mac, Parallels will have some stiff competition. But Parallels should still beat VMware in the price point, VMware isn't that cheap after all.

The biggest difference I see between gold and stocks is that one is based on negative gloom/doom thinking, and the other is based on positive/growth thinking. I have little to no interest in investing in gloom/doom, and history is the reason why. Periods of negative thinking tend to be short-lived.
You are right about this, but we have also never lived in a generation of such drastic debt and our markets are not sustainable at this level of debt and the interest which is owed on it... So I do not see it as doom and gloom but prefer to see the realism behind it. We are really in uncharted territories in modern time but in comparison to the Roman Empire we are over extended just like they were. Our military occupies over 200 countries, we are fighting in two wars with the possibility of a third and it all will cost us trillions. The reality of it is that other countries are not putting themselves at economic risk for the safety of the world like we are. In then end it is the American people who are being effected by this.

Makes more sense to me that Apple would work to standardize AirPlay as a built-in feature of all new HDTV's, blu-ray players, and other set top boxes like Apple TV. In addition to AirPlay input to the HDTV, the HDTV would do AirPlay output from a TV connected webcam/microphone (if any). I don't see Apple trying to sell actual HDTVs, but the iPad would make a great SmartTV content controller that would replace the need for an Apple TV module.
The existing Apple TV could just evolve into an iOS app.

This does not necessarily mean that Apple's iPhone 5 will not have the hybrid chip. It is entirely possible that Apple could be working very close with Qualcomm and they could announce the Iphone 5 in late September just not ship it until November 2011 or even close to the end of the year.

I understand what you are saying but are you really going to call "Vi" a pro app for word processing and say that it fully replaces Word. You can use any app as a tool to create a professional product.

Been with O2 (UK) for many years I never had a dropped call � until I bought an iPhone.
My signal is good, full bars on 3G and 2G. Dropped calls, calls failed happen regally.
I also hate sitting on a train, everyone else who does not have an iPhone has full-good reception, iPhone displays "No Service".

To me, "transgender" means someone who identifies as the opposite of their birth gender the vast majority of the time. "Cross-dresser" means someone who primarily identifies as one gender, but occasionally dresses as the other gender. Yes, it is possible to have a transgender cross-dresser, someone who primarily identifies as the opposite of their birth gender, but occasionally dresses as their birth gender.
I have no problem with "regular" cross-dressers. But if they identify as their birth gender the majority of the time, they should use their birth gender-labeled restroom. If they identify as the opposite gender the majority of the time, even if they are still physically their birth gender, then I don't have a problem with them using their identified-as restroom.

-Can't buy base 21.5'' with 6770M or 6970M.
-Can't buy base 27'' with 6970M.
Why does it always have to be that if you want a good graphics card, you must go for the top model, and thereby paying so much more than if you could just customize the base model with it?

This is scary. While I have no doubts Apple's ability to "get it" will make Microsoft's offering pale by comparison, Microsoft might be able to more than make up for it through marketing and their dominant position in the computer and home gaming market. Then, as in the past, their monopolistic practices will slowly edge out Apple.
And I guarantee you that Microsoft will be much more willing to "play ball" with the movie studios to get the best/preferred deals in offering downloadable movies.

"what??" yeh, exactly. msoft's tablet PC that generated a lot of buzz before it's launch. and when it launched, it promptly flopped, hence the hollow response when it's name is shouted. i agree that an xbox branded device will have to compete with both psp and ipod, and even nintendo's ds; and hence i don't think apple's in any real danger. nevertheless, it is 'bout that time they release another major ipod revision.

i don't understand why everyone is ignoring this guys' post. i'm not a computer engineer, so can someone with the right knowledge explain this a bit more? is it really adware or just a bug? :)
I'll try to explain this: Someone can create a Disk Image File that is intentionally corrupt. They can put it on a webpage from where you could download it, and if you do that, Safari will try to mount the disk image file and then Things Go Wrong. But nothing at all can happen if you don't visit that webpage.
Now Apple can't do anything about that corrupted Disk Image File. The best that Apple can do is try to mount it, figure out that it is corrupted, and tell you that it is corrupted. This is what should have happened, it didn't happen, and that is a bug that Apple should fix. The question is: What damage can happen?
In this case, it has been examined, and the result is that there will be a Kernel Panic. That means your Macintosh will crash. Nothing else can possibly happen, the only possible result is a Kernel Panic. Sounds bad, but all that happens is that you have to restart your computer. About the same as if I unplugged the power cable of your Macintosh. The same thing will happen again if you try to mount the disk image again, or if you go to the same wegpage again. But you wouldn't do that, right? And if you visit the webpage again, you will learn quickly not to do that, right?
The important thing is, there is no security risk. Nobody can use this to install a virus or adware on your computer. They can use it to crash your computer - once if you are clever, twice if you are not quite so clever, but not more often. They can't do anything but crash the computer.
